I've always thought ...Calista said it all, I think. I've always thought that if I could accomplish half of what you have, I could consider my life full. So many times I've wished I knew a fraction of what you do, because I know that I'm still young and stupid. And I would give a great deal to just sit down and let you tell me everything you've told me before that I never thought would ever apply to me. I've realized since being married that I wouldn't mind becoming my mother, and I guess that would make me like you, too. I love you.McD Famhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08168110957963842028noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1189063375159319937.post-18519719342312129042008-02-07T09:25:00.000-08:002008-02-07T09:25:00.000-08:00Part of the reason that I invited you is because I...Part of the reason that I invited you is because I think sometimes it's important for each generation to remember that the one before them was once in the same shoes. This thought really impacted me when we were watching a slide-show of the Danes family. It began with pictures of you and Grandpa as newlyweds, and then went to young family photos, gradually growing over time. And the main characteristics of those photos aren't any different than the ones of my parents and their initially small but growing family over the years. And those photos aren't much different than the ones of my own young family now. As we struggle with the things that come at us on a daily basis, it's really hard to remember that we don't get to be like you over night. So inviting you to participate in the tag had everything to do with helping us to see the person that *grew* into the person you are now, and I wasn't trying to make you feel like you had too many things to sort through to be able to play. You are a wonderful example to me of the kind of person I want to be some day, in so many ways, and sometimes it feels like I'll never get there. So a periodic reminder that it was a growing process for you (and must needs be for us, too) is not a bad thing. Even if you feel like you have too many things to remember, we are glad to hear them, and I'm glad that you played :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1189063375159319937.post-91381530986200357572008-02-07T08:41:00.000-08:002008-02-07T08:41:00.000-08:00I think you have much more interesting life than y...I think you have much more interesting life than you think, Mom. I love hearing about any of your past! For myself, I remember thinning peaches in 100 degree weather with the fuzz sticking to all my sweat - very itchy and not very fun!Kathy Whittlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17303767077477040157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1189063375159319937.post-62472509467392070032008-02-07T05:28:00.000-08:002008-02-07T05:28:00.000-08:00I know what you mean about storms. Snow days are great when you had nothing planned, but they're the pits when you want to get somewhere. Hope the roads clear up for you soon!Melindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14334137960634732204noreply@blogger.com
